STUDY AT HOME
Right last March the Covid-19 pandemic entered Indonesia, starting that month students from various levels of school did their lessons in their respective homes. The next 1 to 2 months they feel bored, they want to go back to school as usual, so am I.
I have been running an online school for a year because of the Covid-19 pandemic. During distance learning, I took online lessons and exams. In addition, in my spare time I sometimes teach my neighbor's daughter, she is seven years old and still in elementary school. I taught him only in English, I taught him to read and write.
Before the lesson starts, I prepare all the stationery such as books and places to be used and don't forget to pray. This learning starts from reading then continues with writing. These teaching and learning activities usually last approximately 40 minutes during the day and are held twice a week.
When teaching, I sometimes feel happy and upset. I feel happy when my neighbor's daughter doesn't do much when it starts and is obedient when study time starts. However, when my neighbor started joking around a lot and didn't pay attention to his textbooks, I became very upset. But I hold back angry because remembering he was little.
So, teaching and learning
activities with my neighbors' children can entertain and help fill their spare
time so that they remain productive even though there are many activities that
must be done at home.
